On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Russia, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with the Foreign Ministers of the ASEAN Member States, expressed appreciation to Russia for hosting the ASEAN - Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan, which set the direction for future cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to advancing the ASEAN - Russia Strategic Partnership and underscored the importance of Russia’s continued support to ASEAN Centrality and ASEAN-centred regional architectures.
Thailand also advocated deeper cooperation to address future challenges, particularly in the areas of energy security, food security, and combating online scams. In addition, Thailand supported efforts to promote economic growth through closer engagement between the business sectors and to launch the negotiations of Thailand - Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement. Thailand further emphasized the importance of human resource development and strengthening people-to-people ties through education, cultural exchanges and tourism.
