On 3 May 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the 4th Session of the Thai-Hungarian Political Consultations co-chaired by Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary, and Mr. Ádám Stifter, Deputy State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
 
Both sides applauded the close and cordial relations between the two countries, which marked the 50th Anniversary in 2023, and celebratory activities will be held accordingly both in Thailand and Hungary. The Co-chairs further discussed current developments in Thai-Hungarian bilateral relations and pathways to widen and deepen areas of cooperation, especially in trade, investment, and current sectorial cooperation such as water management, education, and agriculture, as well as exploring new areas of cooperation in science and technology and electric vehicles. Moreover, both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interests and expressed commitment to cooperate further in the international fora.
 
After the meeting, DPS hosted a luncheon in honour of the Hungarian Deputy State Secretary.
 
On the same day, Deputy State Secretary of Hungary, also paid a courtesy call on Permanent Secretary Sarun Charoensuwan. Both sides discussed ways to promote trade, investment and current sectorial cooperation, and agreed to explore new areas of cooperation such as science and technology and electric vehicles.
 
During this visit to Thailand, Deputy State Secretary of Hungary also signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation within the Framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme for the Years 2023–2025 with Associate Professor Pasit Lorterapong (Ph.D.), Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. This cooperation is an extension of Hungary’s current scholarship programme for Thai students to study at the university level in Hungary.
