Royal Thai Embassy in Astana organized a session of Thai Cuisine Cooking Demonstration for Ambassadors and MFA officials

On 28 December 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana organized a session of Thai Cuisine cooking demonstration at the Thai Ambassador’s residence for foreign ambassadors and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The demonstration was launched by H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand, who led the demonstration himself. During the demonstration, participants have learnt how to make fried bread with shrimp paste, galangal coconut soup with seafood and Pad Thai (in “Chantaburi” style). The ingredients used for cooking are available in the Kazakhstan’s markets. Many of them are also imported directly from Thailand by a Kazak company.

In 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy has promoted Thailand in various aspects in Kazakhstan, including activities to promote Muay Thai (live broadcast via Qazsport TV channel), the Online Film Festival in Central Asia, the publication of articles to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Kazakhstan in Kazakh newspapers, and a session of Thai cuisine cooking demonstration. These activities helped promote Thailand among the people of Kazakhstan, contributing to more exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, especially after the lift of all COVID-19 restriction measures.
