The Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest organises the first edition of Thai Festival in Zagreb at Cvjetni Trg Square, Croatia

On 21 September 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest organised the first edition of Thai Festival in Zagreb at Cvjetni Trg Square, Croatia, which marked the first large-scale outdoor event that the Royal Thai Embassy has hosted in Croatia. Additionally, Thailand was the first country to have held public such event at this prestige Square.

The opening ceremony commenced with an introduction by Mr. Nopakhun Luichant, Chargé d'Affaires. This was followed by remarks from Ambassador Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, and Mr. Stjepan Ćurić, Honorary Consul - designate of Thailand in Zagreb. The opening ceremony was concluded with a traditional Thai drum procession. Moreover, around 70 distinguished guests from the public and private sectors, Croatian politicians, and diplomatic corps attended the opening ceremony reception in front of the stage.

This first-ever Thai Festival in Zagreb showcases Thailand in all aspects under the strategy "5 Must Do in Thailand" including a Muay Thai demonstration, Thai food and beverages, Thai products, massage services, traditional umbrella painting demonstrations, performances of traditional Thai Khon, traditional Thai dance, and traditional Thai music, and quizzes about Thailand. Throughout the day, the event drew over 10,000 attendees, and various local media published articles about the event, contributing to Thailand's broader image and cultural promotion as seen in the links below.
