Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata participated in Kathina robe offering ceremony at Wat Thai Gayanaviriya, Kolkata

On 12 November 2024, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata presided over Kathina robe offering ceremony at Wat Thai Gayanaviriya, Kolkata, which was attended by hundreds of participants from local community. Wat Thai Gayanaviriya was established in 2001 by Venerable Gayanalankar Bhikkhu, a Bangladeshi Chief Abbot, who had spent 14 years to study Thai Buddhist practice at Wat Dhammamongkol, Bangkok. In addition, on 7 November 2016, Mr. Norachit Sinhaseni, former Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand also offered the Royal Kathina Robe bestowed upon by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to Wat Thai Gayanaviriya.
