On 2 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Tana Weskosith, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the French Republic led a Thai delegation, from the Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) headed by Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of TCEB, as well as the Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, to meet with Mr. Dimitry S. Kerkentzes, Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) at BIE’s headquarters in Paris. The Thai delegation updated the latter about the progress Thailand has made in preparation for the said expo, as well as took note of BIE's suggestions after the visit of the BIE Enquiry Mission to Phuket Province during on 24-29 July 2022 for a site inspection of the area proposed by the Thai side to host “Expo 2028 – Phuket, Thailand” in 2028 under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity”.

In this regard, BIE Secretary-General reaffirmed that the BIE Enquiry Mission was satisfied with the visit. The Mission observed Thailand's readiness with its potential and support from the Royal Thai Government as well as all concerned sectors playing a part in hosting the Expo. The Secretary-General also suggested that, for the next bidding step, Thailand, both public and private sectors, should speed up campaigning to garner support from BIE member counties before the final vote which will be scheduled to be held in June 2023 in Paris. 

President of TCEB and the delegation also discussed with the Ambassador about the progress Thailand has made in the preparation for the expo and attended, as Thailand’s representative, the 3rd Expo 2027/28 Candidate Coordination Meeting on 3 November 2022 at the office of the BIE.
