On 13 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu VEJJAJIVA met with H.E. Mr. OKANO Masataka, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, to present the copy of the Letter of Credence and assume his duties. The Ambassador-designate was also welcomed by H.E. Mr. Takehiro Shimada, Chief of Protocol. They had an amicable conversation on how to strengthen the long-standing, close and cordial relations between Thailand and Japan, in order to handle the new dynamics in the regional and global contexts.  In this connection, Ambassador Witchu shared his three priorities, namely (1) enhancing trade and investment in keeping with the global supply chains, especially in new areas, such as clean energy and industries, digital technologies, and environmentally friendly businesses; (2) deepening the exchange of best practices in enhancing connectivities and sustainable development through human resource development; and (3) furthering bilateral exchange of views and conversations on regional developments and global issues.
