On August 24, 2023, the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly Japan-Thailand Friendship League, led by Mr. SHIKIDA Hiroaki, the Chairman of the League, and Mr. KAMEI Takatugu, the Account Auditor of the League and Vice Chairman of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, the Ambassador of Thailand to Japan.

On this occasion, Mr. Shikida introduced the new members of the executive committee of the League and expressed gratitude to the Embassy and Ambassador for the continuous support and cooperation since the establishment of the association in the year 2012.

Both sides discussed various topics, including the coordination which led to the successful donation of firefighting equipment from the Yokohama Fire Department to Duang Prateep foundation, a Thai NGO, in June 2023.

Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly Japan-Thailand Friendship League was established in June 2012, on the occasion of the 125^th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan. Mr. SHIKIDA was appointed as the Chairman of the said League since then.
