On 18 April 2023, Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Nong Rong, Assistant Foreign Minister of China, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Both sides agreed to work together to further deepen bilateral relations, especially in trade, investment, and tourism. In particular, the resumption of flight services from Thailand to China will facilitate people-to-people contact and meet growing demand from the general public and the business sector.

In addition, both sides expressed their readiness to promote shared interests in multilateral fora such as ASEAN and RCEP, as well as cooperative frameworks with developing countries and emerging markets.

DPS was in Beijing to campaign for Thailand’s bid to host the Expo 2028 in Phuket.
