On 24 June 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. U Aung Kyaw Moe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, in Bangkok.

Both sides discussed ways to promote closer friendship and cooperation between the two countries as close neighbors, especially in areas of promoting border trade, combatting transnational organized crimes, and tackling transboundary haze pollution.

Both sides also discussed cooperation within the ASEAN framework and support for the role of the Lao PDR as the current ASEAN Chair.
