On 9 October 2026, Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs and Thailand’s APEC Senior Official, chaired a preparatory meeting for the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Week (AELW), which will be hosted by the People’s Republic of China in Shenzhen between 13 - 19 November 2026. The meeting aimed to exchange views and coordinate preparations for Thailand’s participation in the AELW.

The 2026 AELW will be held under the theme “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together.” Key deliverables are expected to highlight efforts towards the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), strengthen regional connectivity, and promote the digital economy and artificial intelligence as drivers of innovation and growth. Thailand will focus on enhancing economic security and resilience against supply chain disruptions, promoting the responsible adoption of AI, strengthening cooperation to combat online scams, and addressing evolving economic and demographic challenges to support sustainable and inclusive growth.

Key events during the 2026 AELW include the Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting (CSOM), the 4th APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Meeting, the APEC CEO Summit, and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM).
