Press Statement on Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity Meetings in San Francisco

Fourteen Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Partner Countries, which are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the United States, and Viet Nam, participated in IPEF Negotiating Round in San Francisco during 5-12 November 2023, IPEF Ministerial Meeting during 13-14 November 2023, and IPEF Leaders’ Programme on 16 November 2023, hosted by the United States of America in San Francisco.

Partner Countries have witnessed significant progress made unde IPEF. For Pillar I (Trade), progress was made in the areas of trade facilitation, inclusivity, technical assistance and economic cooperation, good regulatory practices, and services domestic regulations, among others, which will continue to be further discussed. On Pillar II (Supply Chain), IPEF Partners participated in the signing of Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity Agreement Relating to Supply Chain Resilience. The substantial conclusions have been reached on the negotiations for the Clean Economy and Fair Economy Pillars. IPEF Partners also substantially concluded the negotiation on the draft Agreement on IPEF for Prosperity to establish of a ministerial-level IPEF Council and IPEF Commission to monitor and ensure ongoing cooperation.
