On 3 September 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Elchin Ragub oglu Bashirov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Thailand, to the Ministry.

Both sides discussed the upcoming opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bangkok, which will be presided over by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side is also planning to convene the first Thailand - Azerbaijan Political Consultations on the same occasion.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on the potential to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in economy, trade, and investment. The Azerbaijani side also emphasized that Thailand is regarded as one of its key priority partners in the region.
