On 20 October 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Khamphan Anlavan, Ambassador of Lao PDR to Thailand on the occasion of latter’s completion of tenure.

The Permanent Secretary expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for his dedication and contribution to strengthening Thailand - Lao PDR relations at all levels. She commended the Ambassador in particular for his role in promoting regular high-level exchanges, including Royal Visits and visits of leaders of the two countries, throughout his ambassadorship in Thailand.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to implement the outcomes of the discussion between leaders of the two countries during the Prime Minister’s official visit to the Lao PDR on 16 October 2025, especially the opening of the Fifth Thai - Lao Friendship Bridge (BuengKan - Bolikhamxay) later this year. Other areas of focus were also discussed, including enhancing cooperation in connectivity, energy, labour, development cooperation, and people-to-people relations.
