On 19 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, held discussions with Ambassadors and representatives of Embassies from Nordic and Central European countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Switzerland) in Bangkok on the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.
The participants exchanged perspectives on the situation in a frank and constructive manner. The Secretary to the Minister provided the latest update on the Thailand - Cambodia border situation and reiterated Thailand’s desire for a genuine and sustainable peace, while urging Cambodia to express sincerity through a durable and sustained ceasefire and joint demining cooperation. The Thai side will use the upcoming Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, to be held on 22 December 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the situation and the way forward. Thailand welcomes cooperation from friends and partners in order to de-escalate the situation.
