Ambassador of Thailand Welcomes Minister of Labour on Visit to the ROK to Expand Employment Opportunities for Thai Workers, Enhance Labour Protection, and Strengthen Employment Cooperation

During 19–20 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, welcomed H.E. Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour of Thailand, and senior executives from the Ministry of Labour during their visit to the ROK. The visit aimed to expand employment opportunities for Thai workers, follow up on the protection and welfare of Thai workers, strengthen bilateral labour cooperation, and engage with Korean private-sector companies employing Thai nationals.
During the visit, the Minister of Labour visited E-SSAN FOOD Co., Ltd., where Ms. Pawinee Daokaew, the company's executive, welcomed the delegation and provided a briefing on the company's business operations as well as its welfare and support measures for Thai employees. The Minister and delegation then toured the workplace and met with Thai workers to hear their views, discuss their working and living conditions, and receive first-hand feedback, including concerns and recommendations. The information gathered will contribute to the continued improvement of policies and measures to protect and support Thai workers overseas.
The Minister also held discussions with the executive of Samho Development Co., Ltd. on expanding employment opportunities for Thai workers and strengthening labour cooperation between Thailand and the ROK. On this occasion, he also met with Thai workers employed by the company and delivered remarks to encourage them, while emphasizing the importance of complying with the laws and regulations of the host country.
In addition, the Minister presided over the presentation ceremony of the Gold-Level Recognition Award for establishments employing Thai workers who have passed Thailand's National Skill Standard Test. The award was presented to Lemongrass Thai Restaurant (Gangnam Branch) in recognition of its commitment to employing highly skilled Thai workers, promoting workforce development, and enhancing confidence in the quality and professionalism of Thai workers in the international labour market.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul reaffirmed its commitment to fully implementing the Royal Thai Government's policies by continuously improving public services to facilitate Thai nationals' access to government services, reducing the time and costs associated with obtaining such services, and proactively strengthening cooperation with Korean government agencies, the private sector, civil society organizations, and the Thai community network. These efforts aim to enhance the well-being, quality of life, and safety of Thai workers and Thai nationals residing in the ROK in all dimensions.
