On 27 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, attended the Thai Market Sinjang Shopping Mall at Songtan Walking Street in Pyeongtaek. The Embassy supported the Thai community leaders and Thai restaurant entrepreneurs in the ROK to co-organise in a Thai-style market from 27 to 28 September 2025, as an initiative by Ms. Sherilyn Eun, a Thai community leader, serving as a pilot project to explore the feasibility of establishing a Thai Town in the future. Members of Pyeongtaek City Council and Songtan Chamber of Commerce, Minister Counsellor and consular officials of the Thai Embassy also participated in the event.

The event featured over 25 Thai entrepreneurs selling a variety of Thai food, beverages, and products. There was also a Thai massage demonstration by the Nuad Thai Volunteer Association in the ROK, a traditional Thai dance performance, a Muay Thai demonstration, and a Thai fabric fashion show by the Thai community in the ROK.
