On 3 July 2025, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul General of Thailand in Siem Reap, presided over the opening ceremony of a community health service project held at the Royal Angkor International Hospital in Siem Reap. The project provided influenza vaccinations to a total of 340 individuals, including Thai nationals and their family members, Thai business employees, and the general public. This initiative was made possible through cooperation with Thai private sector partners, including Krungthai Bank PCL – Siem Reap Sub-Branch, Royal Angkor International Hospital, and Makro (Siem Reap branch).
In his opening remarks, Consul General spoke about the role of the Royal Thai Consulate-General (RTCG), which was established in August 2024 and oversees consular services in eight provinces in western Cambodia. The RTCG aims to provide consular services, promote the interests of Thai nationals, and strengthen people-to-people relations. Recognizing the importance of community health and the impact of influenza—an endemic disease affecting public health—the RTCG has initiated activities to benefit the local community where it is based. This health initiative marks the first community-focused project by the RTCG in partnership with Thai private sector organizations in Siem Reap.
