On 12 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a high-level meeting, led by Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, President of the Thailand Trade Representatives, and Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), with Mr. Charles Freeman, Senior Vice President for Asia, and Mr. John Goyer, Executive Director for Southeast Asia of the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC), and business representatives from both countries.

Discussions focused on the latest developments and effects of U.S. trade and tariff policies, and strategies to strengthen Thai-U.S. economic ties for long-term mutual benefit. USCC reaffirmed its strong partnership with Thailand and expressed its eagerness to collaborate with the Thai counterparts. To do so, the TCC and USCC, along with the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), will co-host the Thailand-U.S. Trade & Investment Summit 2025 in Bangkok from 19-20 May 2025 to address global challenges and the shifting dynamics of international supply chains.

The Thai delegation also attended a networking event co-hosted by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and The Asia Group. Ambassador Ted Osius, President and CEO of USABC, recognized the participation of the large Thai delegation, which emphasized Thailand’s commitment to strengthening economic ties, particularly through expanding investment opportunities in the U.S.

In addition, on 13 May 2025, the FM Secretary attended the “U.S.-Thailand Collaboration: Networking for Future Business Opportunities” event, organized by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the Washington, D.C. Economic Partnership., to share the business perspectives of both sides and create networking opportunities. Ms. Jinjutha Saeung from Eyequila, a Thai start-up specializing in digital eye care solutions which won the SelectUSA Tech APAC Pitching Session, also presented her project in the event.
