On 3 - 8 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the Thai delegation to participate in the 3rd Yerevan Dialogue in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia.

The Yerevan Dialogue has been organised annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia since 2024. This year, Armenia invited high-level representatives from various countries, as well as representatives from the private sector, civil society, and academic institutions from several regions to exchange views on key regional and global challenges. Distinguished speakers at the opening ceremony included H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France.

The Special Envoy participated as a panelist in the session entitled “Regional Identity and Strategic Autonomy: The Asia-Pacific Response to Great Power Rivalries.” He addressed the current global geopolitical landscape and Thailand’s foreign policy approaches in the context of geopolitical rivalries among major powers, emphasising the importance of diversifying partnerships through Thailand’s “bridge-builder” strategy. He also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation at the regional level through ASEAN and at the multilateral level through the United Nations.

In addition, the Special Envoy gave an interview to Armenia’s Shant TV, noting that this marked the first time Thailand had sent a delegation to participate in the Dialogue. He also outlined Thailand’s role in the region, Thailand’s strategies in adapting to the energy crisis, as well as Thailand’s perspectives on the sustainable development agenda, including Armenia’s hosting of COP17 on Biodiversity in October 2026.
