On 2 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm / TNIU, together with partner organizations — Eco-Innovation Foundation (EIF), Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) — co-hosted the "Wood Solution Thailand Forum 2026" in Bangkok. The Forum brought together stakeholders from the public sector, academia, and the private sector of both Thailand and Sweden to advance cooperation in sustainable forestry and timber construction.
The event was honored by the opening remarks of H.E. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden: "Over the past three years, the Royal Thai Embassy and TNIU have worked continuously alongside our partners to build awareness, pioneer new approaches, connect organizations, and strengthen networks around sustainable forest management and timber construction — with the hope that Thailand will draw on Sweden's best practices to drive its timber industry forward as a new engine of economic growth."
Mr. Emanuel Lundin, First Secretary of the Embassy of Sweden in Thailand, on behalf of the Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, joined in congratulating the event and emphasized the importance of Thai-Swedish cooperation: "Climate change and the green transition, including sustainable forestry, have been identified as a key area in the Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Sweden signed in Stockholm last year. This reflects the importance both our countries place on sustainable natural resource management and green growth."
Key highlights and discussions included:
