On 29 January 2026, at Berns, Stora Salongen, Berzelii Park, Stockholm, H.E. Mrs. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, attended the Grand Travel Award 2026, organised by Travel News, and received on behalf of Tourism Authority of Thailand Office for “World’s Best Tourist Destination.”

On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador expressed her sincere appreciation to the organiser and all stakeholders, and highlighted the close and longstanding ties between Thailand and Sweden. She noted that the two countries have come to serve as a “second home” to one another. In 2025, 236,833 Swedish visitors travelled to Thailand, while the Thai community in Sweden is estimated at around 40,000 people. She further emphasised that tourism is not only about places, but also about trust, warm hospitality and quality of service.

In closing, H.E. the Ambassador warmly invited Swedish friends to return to Thailand, and to once again experience the charm of Thai hospitality and service.
