On 13 June 2026, Ambassador Arunrung Photong Humphreys assigned Ms. Pittra Navarat, Minister Counsellor, to attend and observe the workshop seminar entitled “Mental Health First Aid Training” held in Stockholm and organized by the Swedish Buddhist Community. The training program was adapted to align with the context of Buddhist spiritual care. Participants received training on how to recognize and identify the early signs of mental health problems or acute psychological crises among individuals seeking support, as well as how to provide initial assistance and appropriate responses until professional help becomes available or the situation is resolved.

The participants included Buddhist monks, representatives of organizations, assistants to monks, and spiritual care practitioners from member organizations and affiliated temples within Sweden Buddhist community. As their work is closely connected with temple activities, these individuals are often consulted and called upon to provide guidance and support to those seeking spiritual care in temples, hospitals, or private homes. Therefore, it is essential for them to be able to recognize the early signs of mental health issues or acute psychological crises in both children and adults across a wide range of circumstances and stages of life.

The seminar was held from 13–14 June 2026 and featured lectures, group discussions, knowledge assessments, case studies, practical exercises, video-based learning materials, and role-playing activities. The Royal Thai Embassy also provided support for the organization of the event in Stockholm.
