On 12 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan, presided over the presentation ceremony of the Appreciation Trophy graciously granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn upon Professor Dr. AMANO Hiroshi, a distinctive Japanese scientist and a Nobel Prize laureate in Physics for the year 2014, in recognition of his contribution as a plenary lecturer in the Thailand - Japan Student Science Fair 2025, organised by the Office of the Basic Education Commission of Thailand from 16 - 20 December 2025. The ceremony was attended by officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in Tokyo as well as their spouses.
