On 26 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States, during the High-level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two sides exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest. The Foreign Minister underscored the importance of providing humanitarian assistance in Myanmar and resolving the Thailand–Cambodia border situation through existing bilateral mechanisms. Both sides also agreed on peaceful settlement of the dispute and the need to create space for dialogue and communication to rebuild trust.

The Secretary-General welcomed Thailand’s contribution to the work of the United Nations, particularly as the host country for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and other UN entities based in Thailand.
