On 24 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Dr. Comfort Ero, President and Chief Executive Officer of International Crisis Group (ICG), on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Both sides exchanged views on the Thailand–Cambodia situation and the situation in Myanmar. The Deputy Prime Minister informed Dr. Ero of the facts and Thailand’s position with regard to the Thailand–Cambodia situation and on Thailand’s policy of calibrated re-engagement with Myanmar, as well as ASEAN’s role on Myanmar and the provision of humanitarian assistance. Meanwhile, Dr. Ero highlighted ICG’s emphasis on research on online scams and critical minerals and their impact on countries in the region.
