On 24 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with The Hon. Christopher Landau, United States Deputy Secretary of State on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
 
Both sides underscored the importance attached to the longstanding and close Thai-U.S. alliance and strategic partnership. They welcomed the continued momentum in the relations and cooperation between both countries, including in high-level engagements, defense and security cooperation, combating online scams and counternarcotics, as well as the progress of the bilateral trade negotiations, and took this opportunity to discuss ways forward to further advance shared interests.
 
Both sides also exchanged views on developments in the region, including the situation in Myanmar and the Thai-Cambodia situation.
