On 11 November 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered remarks at the opening session of the Multistakeholder Consultation on the new UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for Thailand for 2027 - 2031 at the United Nations Conference in Bangkok. Speaking in the same session were Ms. Sasithorn Palattadej, Deputy Secretary General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) and Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand.
The Multistakeholder Consultation was held to gather views and recommendations from stakeholders to feed into preparations for the 2027 - 2031 UNSDCF, as the current Cooperation Framework will conclude in 2026. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the work of the UN Country Team in Thailand is comprehensive, people-centered, sustainable and aligned with Thailand's development needs in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The event was attended by over 200 participants from the government, civil society, the private sector and the academia.
The UNSDCF has a five-year cycle and provides guidance to the work of the UN Country Team in Thailand, comprising 21 UN agencies, in supporting Thailand’s efforts towards driving forward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NESDC and the UN Resident Coordinator Office form the Tripartite Steering Committee tasked with coordinating between representatives of the Thai Government and the UN Country Team.
