Regarding the announcement of measures by the United States Department of Treasury against online scam networks based in Southeast Asia on 8 September 2025, Thailand welcomes such measures, which align with Thailand’s priority in working with the United States and other partners in combating transnational crimes, particularly the threats from scam centers that have affected people within and outside the region, including Americans.

As part of our longstanding security partnership, Thailand and the United States have long been working closely in law enforcement cooperation. Online scams are a matter of security concern that is connected with other serious transnational crimes, including forced labor, human trafficking, and money laundering. Thailand reaffirms its determination to eradicate online scams and scam centers, and will further strengthen our cooperation with the United States and other partners in addressing this urgent matter of serious crimes.
