Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand

On 7 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty.
Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen Thailand - India relations and advance the Strategic Partnership to be closer and more substantive, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, exchanges of high-level visits, and preparations for activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India in 2027, as well as the temporary enshrinement in Thailand of the Buddha’s relics from the State of Gujarat in the same year.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
