On 20 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Arnd Nenstiel, Chairman of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV), Mr. Volker Treier, Chief Executive for Foreign Trade at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), and representatives from leading German companies operating in Thailand, including Airbus, Siemens, Bayer, BAE Batterien, and B. Braun, at the OAV Office in Berlin.

The discussions focused on opportunities to further strengthen Thai - German economic cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and private sector collaboration. The Thai side highlighted Thailand’s strengths as a key investment destination in the region and invited German businesses to expand their investments in future industries, clean energy, and infrastructure.

The Thai side also expressed its interest in hosting the 20th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) in 2028. German private sector representatives also expressed confidence in Thailand’s economic potential and noted that progress in the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations would help foster a more conducive environment for trade and investment between Thailand and the EU.
