On 25 May 2026, Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 6th Thailand–United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue with H.E. Ms. Seema Malhotra, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Indo-Pacific) at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom. Both sides exchanged views on political, economic, trade, and investment developments, emphasising that the United Kingdom was Thailand’s 4th largest investor in 2025.

Both sides also discussed opportunities to pave the way toward future negotiations for a Thailand–United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (FTA), visa exemption arrangements for diplomatic passport holders, and support for Thailand’s bid for OECD membership. Furthermore, They discussed cooperation in security, environmental protection, clean energy, and education, as well as geopolitical issues and global political and economic challenges, including cooperation in international organizations. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to upholding international law and the rules-based international order.
