On 6 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, had discussions with Mr. Maroun Kairouz, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), during the latter’s visit to Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the WEF. The WEF invited Thailand to participate in the WEF Annual Meeting 2027 and expressed its readiness to support Thailand's role and engagement at the meeting. They also exchanged views on regional developments and the current geopolitical situation, as well as Thailand’s progress in the OECD accession process and the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
