On 8 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Pham Viet Hung, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Thailand.

The Vice Foreign Minister congratulated the new Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand on his assumption of duty and emphasised the importance of further fostering the strategic partnership between Thailand and Viet Nam.

Both sides discussed the vast potential to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. They also stressed the important role of both countries in the development of the Mekong sub-region and ASEAN.
