On 19 June 2025, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, held discussions with H.E. Ms. Berris Ekinci, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye. Both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Thailand and Türkiye, with the aim of elevating the relations to a strategic partnership by 2028 through various mechanisms, such as the Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation (JETC) and Political Consultations (PC), as well as cooperation in the fields of security, economy, and culture.

The two sides also discussed cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as ASEAN, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as regional issues, including the situations in the Middle East and Ukraine.

The Vice Minister also laid a wreath in remembrance of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and the first president of the Republic of Türkiye at the Anıtkabir in Ankara.
