On 12 June 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, and Professor Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the MFA - MU Enhancing Thailand Capacity Building Hub Project between Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Mahidol University (MU). The signing ceremony was witnessed by executives and staff members from both sides at the Ministry.

This MoU extends the first MoU covering cooperation framework between 2021 - 2024 for an additional three years, starting from the signing on 12 June 2025. It aims to enhance knowledge sharing and capacity building for medical and health science personnel in Thailand and other developing countries in areas including health sciences, science and technology, and humanities and social sciences, through exchanges of knowledge and experience with experts from Mahidol University and technologically advanced partner countries.

This MoU also extends the scope of cooperation to include trilateral cooperation, supporting TICA’s strategic partner countries, including Lao PDR, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Nepal, and countries in the South Pacific region. This initiative is in line with Thailand's medical diplomacy and reinforces Thailand's role in advancing sustainable development within the international community.
