On 11 June 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, attended the National Day Reception of the Russian Federation at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and presented congratulatory flowers to H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand.

Thailand and the Russian Federation have enjoyed longstanding and cordial diplomatic relations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties on 3 July 1897. The two countries celebrated the 125th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2022. Over the years, Thai-Russian bilateral cooperation has steadily expanded in various areas, including trade and investment, tourism, education and culture, as well as people-to-people exchanges.
