On 16 January 2012, the Greek Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Nikolaos Vamvounakis, paid a courtesy call to Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul to discuss various issues of interest. The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation with Greece and wished the current administration all the success in overcoming the current economic crisis. The Ambassador thanked the Foreign Minister and reiterated Greeces commitment to enhance relations with Thailand.
