On 23 July 2012, Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Foreign Minister of Thailand, on behalf of the Thai Government, presented financial assistance worth 5 millions Baht to the Japanese Government to Mr. Takashi Okada, Chargé d' Affaires, Embassy of Japan to Thailand, for the relief of floods and landslides following the torrential rainfall that struck the southwestern part of Japan (northern Kyushu).
