On 7 January 2013, His Excellency Mr. RuengdejMahasaranond, Ambassador of Thailand to Peru, along with the Embassy’s officials,presided over the presentation ceremony to hand over more than 100 items of books, CD and related materials in areas of the Thai monarchy, politics, economics and history of Thailand as well as those on Thai traditional cultures, toDr.Felipe Portocorrero, Rector ofthe University of Pacific in Lima as part of the “Thai Study Corner” project. This project aims to provide the pubic, teachers and students of Peru to learn and understand more about Thailand. Books given to the university include, among others, King BhumibolAdulyadej: a Life’s Work, The Kingdom of Siam: The Craft of Central Thailand 1350-1800, Thailand- The Politics of Despotic Paternalism, Investment Guide to Thailand, Simply Thai Cooking. The 50-year old University of Pacific is one of the famous private institute that teaches business administration, accounting and finance, economic and law. Dr. AmnuayViravan has been appointed one of the honorary advisors of the university since 1995. The university has signed cooperation agreements with Thammasat and ABAC universities of Thailand.
