     Mr.Hector Ladron de Guevara P., President ofPeruvian Sports Federation of Muay Thai (FPMT) and Mr.Rodrigo Jorquera, Technical Director of FPMT who also runs School of Champion F14 (www.muaythaiperu.com) paid a courtesy call on Mr.RuengdejMahasaranond, Ambassador of Thailand to Peru, on 4th January 2013. Both informed Ambassador Ruengdej on the success of Team Muaythai Peruwhich won 7 gold medals and the best fighter for one of the team members in the latest 23rd South American Championshipin Brazil in December 2012.

     For many years, FPMT has organized a number of training programs to encourage Peruvians to participate in Muaythai. This year FPMT will join with different municipalities in Lima to provide Muaythai training to Peruvian youths, particularly those from the poor families to help prevent social problems. FPMT also plans toprovide Muaythai training to Peruvian police and soldiers as well as to bring in Muaythai trainer from the US. to conduct  a seminar and coaching in Peru this year. FPMThas set its objective to work with relevant national and regional institutions toputMuaythaias one of the competing sports in the regional and global games starting with the Bolivarian Games which will be hosted by Peru from 16-30 November 2013 in Trujillo

     Ambassador Ruengdej expressed his appreciation for FPMT’s role in promoting Muaythai and the Embassy’s readiness to support FPMT. Ambassador Ruengdej took this opportunity to give FPMT 3,000 Peru nuevo soles (or an equivalent of 37,736 baht) as a continuing financial support for FPMT’s activities and projects.
