On 25 February 2013, the Hungarian National Assembly established Hungarian-Thai IPU Friendship Group to commemorate the 40^th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and Hungary. H.E. Dr. Istvan Simicsko, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Hungary, was appointed Chairman of the Group which comprises of 14 members from both government and opposition political parties of Hungary.

     On that same afternoon, the Hungarian-Thai IPU Friendship Group organised a reception to celebrate the said occasion at the Hunter’s Hall of the Hungarian Parliament. The reception was hosted by Dr. Attilla Gruber, Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian IPU Committee and the Thai Ambassador and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy were invited to attend the event.
