On 30 June 2013, Mr. Chakri Srichawana, Consul-General, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the “Skills Development Training Project for Thai Labour in Hong Kong” of the Thai Women Association at the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon Office. The ceremony was also joined by Mr. Brian Cheung, Project Coordinator of Social Service for Ethnic Minorities, Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, and  Ms. Pratana Udommongkolkul, Consul. This project was initiated by a group of Thai volunteer teachers and the Management Committee of the Thai Women Association. The objectives of the project range from skill development and vocational training for the purpose of sideline incomes to networking opportunities with useful timepass activities. Presented at the ceremony were the demonstration of vegetable and fruit carving; the decoration of flowers and banana leaves; and Chinese cuisine. The said project also helped strengthen cordial relations between the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Thai migrant workers, promote Thai art and culture, and lift up the profile of Thai skilled labour in Hong Kong.
