Thai students participated in the 1st Summer Piano Institute, Corfu, Greece

During the 23-30 June 2013, 5 students and 1 professor from College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand participated in the 1st Summer Piano Institute, Corfu, Greece. The event was organized by the Piano Plus Festival in collaboration with Ionian University, Ionian Islands Prefecture, Royal Thai Embassy in Athens as well as other organizations to bring together Greek, Thai and other international music institutions, in order to share knowledge and experience with music students from all over the world.

The 5 young Thai pianists, Ms.Rasikamon Siyapong, Ms.Rudsada Sae Lim, Ms.Chirapa Wangka-aom, Ms.Nattanicha Mahasuwannachai and Thanasita Fu as well as Professor Eri Nakagawa of Mahidol University, gave their recitals among other pianists from Ionian University, Bowling Green State University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

During the visit to Corfu Island to participate the program, H.E.Mr.Preudtipong Kulthanan, Ambassador of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic paid a courtesy call on Mr.Hristos Skourtis, Vice Secretary of State of Ionian Islands at his office on 27 June 2013. At the meeting, both side discussed the way to promote the relationship between Thailand and Greece at the people-to-people level and the joint cooperation between both sides in the future.

In Athens, the 5 Thai pianists gave a special concert at the Attiko Conservatory of Athens on 2nd July, 2013 before completing their tour in Greece.  Thai traditional songs and some of musical compositions of His Majesty the King of Thailand were beautifully played and received wide interest from audiences, many of whom are members of diplomatic corps in Athens, ambassadors of ASEAN countries, ambassadors, music school faculties and students.
