On 11 July 2013 at the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta, H.E. Mr. PaskornSiriyaphan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, and officials of the Embassy presented the Embassy’s contributions in the forms of money, dates, food, milk, tea and coffee, syrups and snacks, to support activities of Thai Muslim students in Indonesia during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. Mr. SuhaileeManae, President of the Association of Thai Students in Jakarta and West Java, received the contribution on behalf of the Thai Muslim students in Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung. The students’ activities during Ramadhan would include the Iftar dinners duringRamadhan, sport competitions, and celebration of EidulFitr (Hari Raya Puasa) at the end of Ramadhan. Currently, there are approximately 800-900 Thai students in the Republic of Indonesia, of which roughly 90 are now studying in Jakarta and its vicinities.
