During 28 July – 3 August 2013 the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest, in collaboration with the Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Frankfurt and the Honorary Consulate of Thailand in Sofia, organized the Thai Cultural Festival 2013 in Varna, the third biggest city and a popular tourist destination in Bulgaria, to promote better understanding and appreciation of Thai culture and Thai food specialties among the Bulgarians and other international tourists.
This is the second time of the Thai Cultural Festival in Varna. The festival was commenced with an opening ceremony at the Grand Hotel Varna, one of Varna’s most prominent beach resorts and a VIP reception at the Festival and Congress Center in the center of Varna’s walking street on 28 and 29 July 2013, respectively. At both events, there were classical Thai dance performances by the professional dance troupe from Bandit Patanasilp Institute, led by Mr. Phaholyuth Kanittaboot. Approximately 100 guests including Varna’s local government authorities, private sector and a number of local media attended both events. In addition to the classical dance performance, varieties of Thai dishes were served to the guests who enjoyed scrumptious Thai cuisine.
For the rest of the festival, the classical dance troupe has put on the show every evening in front of the Festival and Congress Center at Varna’s walking street with approximately over 300 audiences each performance. In addition, every lunch time, there were also cooking demonstration of Thai food delicacies at the Grand Hotel Varna by Chef Vinai Sookma, a Thai chef from London. Both activities have been a great success and attracted much attention from both media and general public all through the week.
On this occasion, H.E.
