On 14 September 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with Hacienda Santa Martina, Nature Club & Golf, organized the 61st Thai Cooking Demonstration at Hacienda Santa Martina, Nature Club & Golf, in Lo Barnechea, Santiago.
In this session, Ms. Lamyai Ang-kab, chef of the Thai residence, demonstrated the preparation of four authentic Thai dishes; namely, Thai-style tuna canapé (Plaa Tuna), Stir-fried Rice Noodles with Shrimps (Pad Thai Goong Sod), Panaeng Curry with Beef Served with Thai Jasmine Rice (Gaeng Panaeng Neua), and Jackfruit Custard (Sankhaya Khanun).
The ingredients used in each dish are originally Thai and available in Asian stores and supermarkets in Chile. These products as well as mobile exhibition on Thai culture and tourism were displayed in the vincinity.
120 participants, mostly members of the club, attended the activity. They enjoyed the samples of the authentic Thai dishes and received some souvenirs; for example, cookbook, apron, and Thailand travel brochure.
