On 13 September 2013  His Excellency Mr. Poldej Worachat, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka paid a farewell call on Honorable Professor G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka as his term ends due to his retirement. In a meeting, the Ambassador thanked the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka as this year has many activities that symbolize the importance of bilateral relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka in the year 2013 such as the 260th Anniversary of the Establishment of Siam Nikaya (Siam Upasampada) in Sri Lanka, the3rd Joint Commission Meeting between Thailand – Sri Lanka on 1-2 May , the Official visit of Her Excellency Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Thai Prime Minister on 31 May- 1 June and the official visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 19-22 August .

In this regards, Honorable Professor G.L. Peiris presented a souvenir to the Ambassador.
