On 5 August 2013, H.E. Mr. Poldej Worachat, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka, handed over a donation of 687,656.38 Sri Lankan Rupee from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand donated money to Sri Narendrarama Raja Maha Vihara to support the education activities at the Temple.  

     The financial contribution from Thailand consists of

     1) 26 scholarships to talented students in the temple area for 10,000 Sri Lankan rupee each, totaling 260,000 Rupee.

     2) 227,656.38 Rupee to support the construction of Temple’s Buddhist Sunday school

     3) 200,000 Rupee for foreign languages and computer studies material at the school

     On the same occassion, a Thai youth delegation led by Miss Chantipa Phutrakul, Director of Young Ambassador of Virtue Foundation, and Mrs. Pojjaman Pongpaiboon, Director of Educational Innovation Development Bureau, also visited the temple to do cultural exchange programme with the Sri Lankan counterparts in the temple area. 

     The event brought about the better mutual understanding between Thai and Sri Lankan children.
