On 20th September 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens, in collaboration with The Westin Athens Astir Palace Beach Resort, organized the 4th Thai Food Festival 2013 in Athens to promote better appreciation of Thai food specialties among the Greeks and international tourists.
Two Thai chefs from Westin Hotel Bangkok have specially flown in from Thailand for the festival to make exotic cuisines and to demonstrate how some of the Thai dishes are made. The specialty chefs have meticulously designed a menu with a good combination of Thai ingredients and locals produces. The menu consists of a variety of both authentic Thai dishes and fusion foods like Pla salmon chea nam pla (Marinated salmon with Thai herb and mint chili lime sauce), Hoi mang phoo nung samun phai ( steamed mussel with Thai herb serve with spicy lime sauce) and Coconut cream brulee. Approximately 120 guests attended the event. The festival not only showcases an array of authentic and integrated Thai cuisine but also features elements of Thai culture, giving Greeks as well as international tourists a unique experience.
